Braga
The Carmelite Convent of the Immaculate Conception in Braga houses
the cloistered sisters, who after Mass, greet us in the visiting room of
the convent.
Balasar
Alexandrina da Costa, a victim soul who suffered the Passion of Christ
and who lived on the Eucharist for the last 13 years of her life lived in
Balasar. We visit her home and the Parish Church where she is buried.
Bom Jesus
Visiting and sometimes celebrating Mass in the Cathedral of Bom Jesus,
walking the Stations of the Cross, and admiring the beautiful grounds at
Bom Jesus is one of the stops in Northern Portugal.
Sameiro
The Cathedral in Sameiro is the first Cathedral in the world built to
honor the Immaculate Conception. Below the church, in the crypt, are the
Glorious and Joyful mysteries along the walls in mosaic.
Tuy
The Dorothean Convent in Tuy, Spain is where Sister Lucia had the vision
of the Holy Trinity and where Our Lady asked for the Consecration of
Russia to Her Immaculate Heart.
Pontevedre
The Dorothean Convent in Pontevedre, Spain, in Sister Lucia’s cell, is
where Our Lady and Jesus gave Sr. Lucia the Five First Saturday
Devotion. Also in the Courtyard in this Convent is where Sr. Lucia had the
conversation with Jesus about her efforts of promoting devotion in the
world to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, as Our Lady asked her to do.
Also, Jesus and Sr. Lucia discussed the different ways of completing the
confession requirement for First Saturday.
Santiago de
Compostela
Santiago de Compostela in Spain is the place of many pilgrimages. The
Cathedral schedules the Pilgrim’s Mass at 12:00 Noon every day, and at
the end of Mass, the botofumeir (incensor) swings across the nave of
the Cathedral.
